Broken ATM in Maine chunks out $37,000 in cash money!

This may be the craziest thing I heard this week! Apparently the police not to long ago got a call from a woman who was waiting to use an ATM somewhere in Maine. While the woman was waiting, she noticed that a guy was spending an unusual amount of time outside of the bank’s ATM machine.

When the police finally arrived they found a man stuffing loads of cash into a shopping bag! The police stopped the man and the money was returned to the bank. However, bank officials said they would not press charges on the man. The identity of the man wasn’t released because he hasn’t been charged.

The man requested $140 from the ATM but wound up getting $37,000 blasting from the machine! The police have stated that they are still investigating what happen. Yet, bank officials are calling the problem a “code error” and that this should not effect other customer’s accounts.

Be as it may, what would you have done seeing that kind of dough coming out of the bank’s ATM? Would you have tried to do the same thing as that guy? or would you have tried to be a good citizen and call the authorities?
